When you talk to your data using Chief, you’ll get a response in chat. But you can do much more with each response, using the Document Editor. Here’s what you need to know:
🚀 Pro-tip: Adding a Chief response to your All Knowledge asset library lets you use that response as future knowledge to power Chief interactions. Learn more below.
What you can do with the Editor:
The editor allows you to:
Edit Chief’s responses
Share responses as a secret link
Download Chief’s responses
And most powerfully: Add Chief responses to your
All Knowledgeasset library so you can use them as assets to power future Chief chats (Learn more about your knowledge library at All Knowledge Overview )
ℹ️ Did you know that you can turn Chief responses into visuals like images, infographics, and word clouds with 1-click? Learn how to do it here.
Opening the Editor:
You can open the editor by clicking the Open Editor button on any Chief response in a chat thread:

Working in the Editor:

Once in the Editor, you can:
Add the response to your
All Knowledgelibrary: Doing this lets you use Chief output as input to future Chief interactions. If you’d like, you can first edit the response and then add it to your All Knowledge. By default, Chief labels each asset withGenerated by Chief. You can use this label to create sophisticated Data Views — for example, excluding this label from data views you create if you don’t want to include any Chief-generated content in your Data Views. You can learn more about working with Data Views here: Data Views OverviewYou can share Chief’s responses by:
Copying them with the copy button
Copying them as Markdown if you need to put them into a blogging platform, or similar
Downloading them as a PDF
Creating a shareable “Secret Link” to share the response via URL. Note that only the original Chief response can be shared via Secret Link — if you’ve edited it, you’d need to revert to the original version before you’ll be able to create a Secret Link.
You can edit Chief’s responses right in the Editor using WYSIWYG editing tools — just highlight the text you want to work with and then bold, italicize, create headers, etc.
When you’re done, you can close the Editor by hitting the
Close Editorbutton.
