Workspace & Navigation

The side panel is your quick-launch hub in Storytell. You can jump into a chat, organize your files, or navigate projects, all from one place. Here’s what each section does and what to expect as we keep leveling it up.

Collections

A Collection is a way to create a "fence" around subsets of your data, so you can work with just that data. Instead of asking Storytell to answer questions based on All Knowledge every time, you can define a smaller, more relevant subset of your data and save it as a named Collection. This gives you control over what the AI considers as inputs to its answers, helps reduce noise, and allows you to reuse the same scope across different chats and workflows.

Creating a Collection is about defining a useful subset of your Knowledge, then saving it for future use. You can create a view from Labels, from manually selected Assets, or from a combination of both.

Expert Lens

Storytell lets you control the level of “thinking” applied to responses for each prompt. This setting determines how the AI processes and reasons when generating answers, so you can match the depth of reasoning to the task at hand.

Manually choose which large language model (LLM) Storytell uses for your prompts. By default, Storytell selects the model that delivers the most reliable results, but you can override it at any time or bring your own API keys if you're an enterprise customer.

The Response Menu is an interactive feature that appears whenever you highlight text inside any Storytell response or Artifact.
